Review: Sea Prayer by Khaled Hosseini

I started of 2019 with this gorgeous illustrated book by Khaled Hosseini

“But that life, that time,
seems like a dream now,
even to me,
like some long-dissolved rumor.”

Sea Prayer is not exactly a book, it’s a poem. A father’s letter to his son. In such few words, Khaled paints such a vivid picture of loss and pain. This book is dedicated to the thousands of refugees who have perished at sea fleeing war and persecution.

Some might find this book a little overpriced since it’s a very very short read, but Bloomsbury will be donating to UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency) from the sale of this book. So you not only get a book full of priceless illustrations, you also get to be part of a great cause.
